The Lodge is next to the Whakanewha regional park

with fabulous bush walks. Whakanewha is Maori meaning "to shade the eyes from the setting sun". When you have seen the sunsets from the lodge,

you will see how the park got its name. The long sweeping beach here has sheltered swimming with a

panoramic bush backdrop, a great place for a picnics with quiet benches and tables.

Just a 5 minute stroll from the Waiheke Lodge is the Batch Winery which produces quality Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Flora plus wonderful food and has amazing views.

The Waiheke Golf Club is 4 minutes away, course is Par 72 5621 meters long and available without membership every day except Saturdays. Green fees: $20.00 for 9 holes or $30.00 for 18 Holes juniors $10. Cart Hire: $30.00 Trundler Hire:  $5.00 Club Hire: VIP (new) $25 or Standard $15.00  Mens / Ladies | Left & Right. Childrens clubs available.

The Waiheke Explorer Bus runs a route around Waiheke that stops only 100m from our lodge, a comfortable 4 minute walk on level unsealed road. It runs every half hour from 9.50am daily, starting and ending at the Passenger Ferry Terminal. Last drop off to ferry is 7.15pm

Drive to Waiheke for a perfect holiday on the Sealink Waiheke car ferry which goes from Half Moon Bay and also less often from Wynyard Quarter - see timetables

Fullers have a passenger ferry service running half-hourly in summer from downtown Auckland (Britomart) to Waiheke and back - see timetable and also from Devonport.

Take a scenic flight direct from the Waiheke Lodge or arrive in style with Flight Hauraki from Auckland, Ardmore or North Shore just a 10-20 minute flight away. The grass airstrip is very quiet and does not operate after sunset.

Fly straight from Auckland, Ardmore, North Shore or any NZ airport within range directly to the private airfield adjacent to Waiheke Lodge, either in your own aircraft or by charter - see Flight Hauraki. The grass airstrip is very quiet and does not operate after sunset.

The Waiheke Lodge is on the Te Ara Hura Track which runs around Waiheke (red line). You can walk or mountain bike ride all around Waiheke from the Lodge. Many tracks are being shared with mountain bikes as a trial by Auckland Council. The Waiheke Mountain Bike Club web site has lots of information to help you plan your trip.
