Waiheke Lodge

New from 15th December 2016 to 30th April 2017 the Waiheke Explorer Bus runs a route around Waiheke that stops only 100m from our lodge, a comfortable 4 minute walk on level unsealed road. It runs every half hour from 9.50am daily, starting and ending at Matiaia Ferry Terminal. Last drop off to Matiatia is 7.15pm

Both kitchens have a sink, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer, kettle and toaster, pots and pans, dishwasher and powder, cleaning cloths and tea towels. Dishwasher powder and rinse aid provided.

Take a scenic flight direct from the Waiheke Lodge or arrive in style with Fly NZ from Auckland, Ardmore or North Shore just a 10-20 minute flight away. The grass airstrip is very quiet and does not operate after sunset.

The Waiheke Lodge is on the Te Ara Hura Track which runs around Waiheke (red line). You can walk or mountain bike ride all around Waiheke from the Lodge. Many tracks are being shared with mountain bikes as a trial by Auckland Council. The Waiheke Mountain Bike Club web site has lots of information to help you plan your trip.

The Lodge is next to the Whakanewha regional park

with fabulous bush walks. Whakanewha is Maori meaning "to shade the eyes from the setting sun". When you have seen the sunsets from the lodge,

you will see how the park got its name. The long sweeping beach here has sheltered swimming with a

panoramic bush backdrop, a great place for a picnics with quiet benches and tables.

Private airfield NZKE (Day VFR) is available by appointment only. Fly straight from Auckland, Ardmore, North Shore or any NZ airport within range directly to the Waiheke Lodge, either in your private aircraft or by charter - see Fly NZ. The grass airstrip is very quiet and does not operate after sunset.

Fullers have a Foot Ferry service running half-hourly in summer from downtown Auckland (Britomart) to Waiheke and back - see timetable and also from Devonport.

 Around the Waiheke Lodge

Just a 5 minute stroll from the Waiheke Lodge is the Batch Winery which produces quality Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Flora plus wonderful food and has amazing views.
